A repeatable lighting check can help fleets identify faults before they become roadside or inspection problems.

  1. Walk around the vehicle with lighting switched on.
  2. Check dipped and main beam.
  3. Check indicators and hazard lamps.
  4. Check stop lamps with assistance or a suitable checking method.
  5. Check position, marker, fog and reversing lamps.
  6. Inspect lenses for damage, contamination and water ingress.
  7. Check reflectors and conspicuity markings for damage or obstruction.
  8. Record and rectify defects through the fleet maintenance process.

This checklist is general information and does not replace an operator’s required inspection or maintenance procedures.
